HVAC Technical Manager

About the role

The HVAC Technical Manager will lead technical support, warranty management and service‑provider oversight for residential and light‑commercial air‑conditioning systems. This hands‑on role combines field expertise with leadership to raise service quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support to internal teams, branches, distributors and authorised service providers, diagnosing and resolving complex faults.
• Manage technical assessment of warranty claims, investigate recurring failures and drive root‑cause analysis.
• Oversee the authorised service‑provider network, conduct technical audits and ensure compliance with qualifications.
• Coordinate technical training programmes, identify skills gaps and mentor technicians.
• Ensure all work complies with South African legislation, SAQCC Gas registration, OHS and pressure‑equipment regulations.
• Prepare monthly reports on technical support, warranty performance, training and service activity.

Required profile

• Qualified Refrigeration & Air‑Conditioning Artisan (Trade Test/Red Seal) or equivalent recognised HVAC qualification.
• Valid SAQCC Gas registration (authorised refrigerant practitioner) and a valid driver’s licence.
• Minimum 5 years experience in residential and light‑commercial HVAC installation, servicing and repairs.
• At least 2 years in a technical supervisory, support or team‑leadership role.
• Proven ability to assess and manage technical warranty claims and work with contractors.
