Human Resources Specialist – Johannesburg

About the role

KONE is looking for a Human Resources Specialist to join its People & Communications team in Johannesburg. You will provide trusted HR support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring processes align with global standards and South African legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage onboarding, internal mobility, promotions, transfers and off‑boarding to deliver a consistent employee experience.
• Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, processes and procedures.
• Support employment contracts, payroll inputs, status changes and other HR administration tasks.
• Maintain accurate employee data in Workday, BBBEE and Employment Equity systems and produce HR reports.
• Ensure compliance with KONE policies, global standards and South African employment legislation.
• Identify and implement process improvements, documentation and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in HR, People Operations or HR Shared Services.
• Experience in a multinational or international organisation.
• Strong knowledge of South African employment legislation, BBBEE and Employment Equity requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Workday (HRIS) experience.
• Proficiency with HR reporting tools.
