Human Capital Officer

About the role

A pharmaceutical company is looking for a Human Capital Officer to partner with business leaders in developing and implementing HR strategies that drive performance, employee engagement and compliance while supporting sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment, placement and selection processes ensuring compliance with policies, affirmative action and employment equity.
• Implement and monitor employment equity action plans, conduct audits and report on transformation targets.
• Maintain accurate employee records, produce headcount and other HR metrics, and support performance management and organisational development initiatives.
• Advise line management on labour relations matters, disciplinary processes and support CCMA, bargaining council and labour court cases.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations or related field; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• 5–8 years of generalist HR experience, preferably in a unionised manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical or logistics environment.
• Proven experience in employment equity, labour relations, change management and talent management.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation, employment equity act and HR best practices.
• Ability to analyse HR data and produce actionable reports for management.
