Human Capital Business Partner – CPT

About the role

The Human Capital Business Partner (CPT) will provide strategic HR support to the Core Operations business unit of Sanlam Corporate. Working closely with senior leaders, the role drives people strategies that align with operational objectives and enhances workforce effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to translate business goals into integrated human capital strategies.
• Act as trusted advisor on all people‑related matters, influencing decisions with evidence‑based insights.
• Lead talent management and succession planning, building a strong leadership pipeline.
• Oversee recruitment, employee relations and HR data management to ensure operational efficiency.
• Maintain organisational structures, job descriptions and performance management systems.
• Support onboarding, coaching and development initiatives for line managers and employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 5–7 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in corporate or financial services.
• Demonstrated experience in talent management, workforce planning and employee engagement.
• Strong understanding of South African HR legislation and ability to apply it in practice.

Required skills

• HR analytics and data interpretation.
• In‑depth knowledge of South African labour legislation (Labour Relations Act, BCEA, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act).
