HR Officer – Payroll & Industrial Relations Specialist (FMCG)

About the role

Our client is looking for a detail‑oriented, process‑driven HR Officer to join a dynamic HR team in the fast‑moving FMCG sector. Reporting to the HR Manager and working alongside an experienced peer, you will be responsible for payroll administration and employee & labour relations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll data input, adjustments, terminations and monthly documentation; process onboarding and off‑boarding paperwork; resolve employee queries on leave, remuneration and benefits with high accuracy.
• Lead employee and labour relations activities, including performance improvement plans, disciplinary advice, internal investigations, charge‑sheet preparation and coordination of disciplinary hearings.
• Support general HR operations such as employee onboarding, induction programmes, engagement initiatives, company events and strategic HR projects while maintaining rigorous documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Officer or HR Generalist.
• Strong practical knowledge of payroll processing, salary structures and leave administration; experience with PaySpace is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with performance improvement plans, disciplinary procedures and organising hearings.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle.
• Professional appearance and fluency in written and spoken English.
• Willingness to work extra hours to meet critical month‑end deadlines.
