HR Manager – Regional HR Strategy (Sandton)

About the role

Our client in the agricultural sector, based in Sandton, Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead regional HR strategy across Africa. You will work closely with senior leadership to embed HR initiatives, drive cultural change, and ensure compliance with South African legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the senior team to embed regional HR strategy and provide professional HR guidance to senior managers and People Partners across Africa.
• Coach and support line management for effective people management.
• Identify, prioritize, and build organisational capabilities, behaviours, structures and processes.
• Manage and implement improvement projects and strategic change initiatives such as culture change, business transformation, and new ways of working.
• Oversee operational HR processes, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting to local legislation.
• Approve and monitor payroll processes and manage expatriate inbound and outbound movements.
• Lead local and global diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Regional Lead on compensation and benefits to meet global gender‑pay‑gap and living‑wage requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HR management.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a generalist HR management role.
• Proven experience managing and implementing projects and strategic change initiatives.
• Extensive knowledge of HR management processes, tools, and South African labour legislation.
• Strong business acumen with understanding of strategy, processes and standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and to coach senior leaders.
