HR Intern – 12‑Month Full‑Time Internship

About the role

We are looking for a motivated HR graduate to join our team for a 12‑month, full‑time internship. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience across a wide range of HR functions, supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operations of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general administrative assistance to the HR team and maintain accurate employee records.
• Prepare onboarding and off‑boarding materials, including starter packs, induction schedules and exit paperwork.
• Support recruitment activities by scheduling interviews, screening CVs and conducting basic reference checks.
• Collate new starter documents to ensure onboarding packs are complete.
• Compile standard HR documents such as employment confirmation letters.
• Act as the initial point of contact for routine employee queries, escalating complex issues to management.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive employee and business data.
• Assist Employment Equity administration by filing minutes, updating records and organising documentation.
• Participate in ad‑hoc HR administrative projects and audit preparation throughout the year.

Required profile

• Education: Grade 12/Matric and currently pursuing or completed a Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
• Experience: No prior formal HR experience required; previous administrative exposure or campus involvement is a plus.
• Attributes: Strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, proactive mindset, high integrity and ability to work independently.
