HR & Industrial Relations Officer

About the role

The HR & Industrial Relations Officer will be based in Mobeni, Durban and will support a unionised workforce. You will act as the primary liaison between the company and labour institutions, ensuring compliance and effective employee relations.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the company at the CCMA and during wage negotiations.
• Manage IOD claims registration and submission of annual reports both internally and externally.
• Lead recruitment processes including screening, interviewing and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR documents and company policies.
• Deliver training programmes and support employee development.
• Prepare HR reports and monitor compliance with labour legislation.
• Handle high‑pressure situations and provide timely HR solutions.
• Ensure personal vehicle availability for site visits and related travel.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of HR/IR experience, with at least 7‑8 years of CCMA representation.
• Formal qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
• Proven experience in unionised environments and wage negotiations.
• Own a reliable vehicle and possess a valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure, fast‑moving workplace.
