HR Generalist – Luxury Lodge

About the role

The HR Generalist will support the Management team at Malewane Lodge, focusing on HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, training and culture development. This position plays a key part in aligning daily operations with the company’s Vision, Purpose and Values.

Key responsibilities

• Promote organisational culture by encouraging staff to live the Vision, Purpose & Values.
• Manage the full employee journey: recruitment, onboarding, learning & development, succession planning and off‑boarding.
• Drive employee engagement through feedback, coaching, mentoring and conflict resolution.
• Handle employee and labour relations, ensuring compliance with CCMA, LRA, EE, OHS and BCEA regulations.
• Lead change projects, organisational design and technology adoption.
• Oversee recognition, rewards, compensation, payroll, promotions and benefits.
• Promote holistic health and wellness for staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in HR management, generalist or coordinator roles.
• BComm/LLB/Humanities degree preferred.
• Experience in a luxury hotel or lodge environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s licence, own car and ability to travel to the lodge.
• South African citizenship advantageous; valid work permit required if not a citizen.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams and Planner.
• Familiarity with Canva.
• Knowledge of SAGE People HR platform.
