HR Generalist – Johannesburg

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and detail‑oriented HR Generalist to join our Johannesburg team. You will be responsible for delivering a full range of HR services across the employee lifecycle, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with South African labour legislation, and alignment with our business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, from requisition to offer, including job adverts, interviews and verification checks.
• Coordinate smooth onboarding, set up HRIS profiles and organise induction programmes.
• Maintain accurate employee records, update HRIS, produce reports and manage job profiles.
• Support learning and development initiatives, administer study bursaries, SETA processes and promote the LMS.
• Prepare salary inputs, verify payroll documentation and administer employee benefits such as medical aid and pension funds.
• Coordinate employee wellness programmes and promote EAP services.
• Assist with industrial relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and CCMA processes, and advise managers on labour legislation.

Required profile

• Matriculation plus a Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, with exposure to payroll and benefits administration.
• Knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EE Act).
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.

• Proficiency with HRIS platforms.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
