HR Generalist / HR Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist / HR Business Partner to join the head office of a national FMCG company in Clairwood, Durban. The role blends hands‑on HR delivery with strategic partnership to support operational teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with line managers to deliver HR solutions across the employee lifecycle.
• Manage recruitment, selection and onboarding of large staff complements.
• Oversee performance management, employee engagement and wellness initiatives.
• Handle employee relations, disciplinary matters and labour‑broker relationships.
• Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation, BEE, SMETA, BCEA, LRA and employment‑equity requirements.
• Support departmental audits and Department of Labour inspections.

Required profile

• Relevant HR qualification.
• 3–5 years of generalist HR experience.
• At least 2 years in an HR Business Partner capacity.
• Experience in manufacturing, production or FMCG environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour law and HR best practices.
