HR Generalist – Full‑time role in Mossel Bay

About the role

The HR Generalist will own the day‑to‑day HR function for a manufacturing company, providing professional support to all departments, managers and employees. The role centralises HR tasks currently handled by individual managers and ensures compliance with South African labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain confidential employee records, contracts, leave, attendance and HR registers.
• Coordinate onboarding, induction, off‑boarding and workforce planning with managers.
• Act as the primary contact for employee and labour relations, handling grievances, disciplinary actions and CCMA matters.
• Implement performance‑management processes, conduct reviews and identify training needs.
• Develop, update and enforce HR policies, ensuring compliance with South African employment law.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Labour Relations or a related field.
• 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and experience with disciplinary, grievance and performance‑management processes.
• Experience in recruitment, selection and HR administration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sage HR/payroll systems (or similar).
• Strong computer literacy and Microsoft Office skills.
