HR Assistant – Operations (San Francisco)

About the role

The HR Assistant Operations supports the Human Resources function by handling administrative tasks, reporting and stakeholder coordination. This position ensures HR processes are applied consistently and complies with internal policies and external regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Generate, compile and submit HR reports and statistics as required by management.
• Maintain and update data in Symplexity and the HR access database, producing relevant reports.
• Control overtime, manage document control, and ensure accurate attendance records.
• Support employee relations, staffing, recruitment, selection and placement activities.
• Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to time‑and‑attendance standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including service providers.
• Assist with financial management tasks such as cost‑saving initiatives and cash conservation.
• Participate in ESG compliance and responsible mining initiatives where applicable.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF 4).
• Valid driver’s licence (if applicable).
• Clear credit and security‑screening records; medically fit for the role.
• Minimum two years’ experience in an administrative position; experience in the specific business area is advantageous.
• Higher Certificates or Advanced National Vocational Certificates in Business, Commerce or Management studies are a plus.
