HR Assistant / Coordinator / Manager – High-End Fashion & Hospitality

About the role

The company, a high‑end fashion, retail and café group operating in Sandton, is looking for an organised and people‑focused HR professional. Depending on qualifications, the role may be at the level of HR Assistant, Coordinator or Manager, providing hands‑on support across recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, performance management and employee relations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment cycle – advertise vacancies, screen CVs, schedule interviews, conduct reference checks and prepare employment offers.
• Coordinate onboarding, maintain employee files, update HR databases and oversee probation and exit processes.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee queries, support managers with disciplinary and grievance procedures, and promote positive workplace relations.
• Facilitate performance management activities, including reviews, development discussions and monitoring of probation periods.
• Assist with workforce planning and maintain a talent pipeline for retail, fashion, café and hospitality positions.

Required profile

• Polished, proactive and highly organised with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment across multiple store and café locations.
• Good understanding of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with management and staff.
