HR Administrator

About the role

Durban North Liquor Distributors is recruiting a fixed-term HR Administrator for a six-month contract, based in Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants from Phoenix and its surroundings are welcome. The employer looks for candidates with the right experience, attention to detail, good time management and the ability to work under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Process and administer payroll and salaries, and maintain payroll records including tax filings, employee benefits and leave balances
• Manage benefits enrollment and changes, and answer employee questions about coverage
• Track attendance, leave requests and balances
• Prepare HR reports and pull data for disciplinary reviews
• Prepare job descriptions, advertise vacancies and conduct interviews
• Run induction and training for new employees and train employees and interns
• Draft and sign employee contracts and addendums
• Monitor employee performance and handle disciplinary issues through counselling, warnings and disciplinary hearings
• Create and implement company and staff policies and procedures
• Oversee health and safety requirements and prepare for Department of Labour inspections
• Handle departmental applications such as SETA, BEE and WC
• Keep accurate records of all employee information and documents
