Hotel Sales Manager

About the role

Babylonstoren is seeking a Hotel Sales Manager to drive revenue growth by developing new business opportunities, managing relationships with travel agents and tour operators, and converting sales opportunities into confirmed bookings. The role focuses on positioning the property as a luxury destination in local and international markets, covering hotel accommodation, groups, exclusive‑use bookings and high‑value guests.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a hotel sales plan to increase occupancy and revenue.
• Build and maintain relationships with local and international travel agents, tour operators, DMCs and concierge networks.
• Generate agent‑driven business from key markets such as the USA, UK, Germany and South Africa.
• Plan and attend trade shows, roadshows, webinars and sales trips to generate new business.
• Coordinate site inspections, familiarisation trips and product training for travel agents.
• Work closely with the Revenue team to target periods requiring additional occupancy.
• Monitor and report on sales activities, agent production and conversion rates.
• Collaborate with the Hotel GM, Revenue Manager and Hospitality Director to achieve sales, revenue and occupancy targets.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience in hotel sales, luxury hospitality or tourism sales.
• Proven track record of developing and managing relationships with travel agents and tour operators.
• Experience in creating and executing sales plans that increase revenue and occupancy.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and commercial acumen.
• Excellent written and spoken Afrikaans and English.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM systems.
• Familiarity with hotel reservation systems.
• Advanced computer skills.
