About the role
The Porter will join the professional team at Life Groenkloof Hospital, reporting to the Admission Supervisor. This frontline position ensures smooth patient movement and supports daily operations within the hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
- Transport patients between reception, wards, doctors' rooms and designated areas, ensuring a nurse accompanies when required.
- Check wheelchairs for cleanliness and functionality, reporting any repairs needed.
- Assist the Reception Supervisor with ad‑hoc duties during busy periods.
- Deliver correspondence to doctors' rooms as needed.
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in line with hospital requirements.
- Understanding of the private healthcare sector is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients and staff.
- Previous experience in a similar role or customer‑service environment.
