Health Consultant (Medical Aid Sales)

About the role

Optivest Health Services is seeking motivated Health Consultants to join its Durbanville team in Cape Town. You will engage qualified leads, assess their health‑cover needs and guide them through the selection, quotation and activation of Medical Scheme, Health Insurance and Gap Cover solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Engage clients telephonically and electronically, conducting needs‑analysis discussions.
• Prepare comparative quotes and recommend the most suitable health‑cover products.
• Convert qualified leads into new health‑cover contracts and capture sales accurately.
• Follow up with product providers until the client’s cover is activated, keeping clients informed throughout.
• Send all required FAIS‑related communication and ensure compliance with company, FAIS and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual and well‑organised with strong time‑management skills.
• Professional and confident communicator, comfortable speaking on the phone.
• Target‑driven with a client‑focused attitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a regulated, compliance‑driven environment and possess reliable transport.
• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate; additional qualifications (RE5, CMS, Wealth Management) are advantageous.
• Previous experience in direct marketing, sales, medical‑scheme advice or financial/health‑insurance sales is preferred.
