Health and Safety Consultant

About the role

Labournet is seeking a Health and Safety Consultant to join its fast‑growing consulting team. You will work with management teams across multiple organisations to implement and maintain health and safety management systems, supporting the delivery of SHEQ objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice to ensure compliance with OHS legislation, including the OHS Act, COIDA, SANS and SABS standards.
• Develop, implement and maintain detailed project plans, safety audits and project‑specific safety files.
• Draft and roll out OHS policies, risk assessments, safe work procedures and emergency response plans.
• Conduct incident investigations, report findings to senior management and facilitate safety committees.
• Train client employees to perform monthly inspections and audit those inspections.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (NQF5) with an accredited OHS certificate.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in health and safety consulting.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (essential).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
