About the role

The Head of Transport Department (C4) leads the dispatch function, ensuring efficient movement of products across the region and supporting cross‑border logistics. This senior position acts as a strategic partner for AVBOB Mutual and the Funeral Division, overseeing all aspects of transport operations, health and safety, and personnel management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and oversee the dispatch department processes.
• Develop and implement new procedures for dispatch operations.
• Dispatch all products throughout the region and manage raw‑material collections when required.
• Quote transport services for AVBOB Mutual and act as their strategic partner.
• Manage dispatch personnel, including orientation, training, and refresher courses.
• Record diesel consumption data and produce tracker reports.
• Plan routes, allocate staff, and coordinate distribution from Central Stores.
• Ensure all products are properly loaded and oversee cross‑border logistics.
• Calculate and control overtime, and oversee health and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in transport or dispatch operations.
• Ability to develop and enforce operational procedures.
• Strong organisational skills for route planning and personnel allocation.
• Experience working as a strategic partner with external organisations.
• Commitment to health, safety and regulatory compliance.
