Head of Tax

About the role

Adcorp Group is seeking an accomplished Head of Tax to own the Group’s tax agenda and guide the company through an increasingly complex tax and business environment. The role goes beyond compliance, offering the chance to shape tax strategy, influence business decisions and strengthen governance. You will work closely with senior finance and business leaders as the trusted tax partner behind key decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and execute the Adcorp Tax Strategy.
• Provide trusted tax advice to senior finance and business leaders.
• Identify opportunities to optimise the Group’s tax position while maintaining strong governance.
• Influence tax approaches to strategic projects, transactions and business decisions.
• Advise on appropriate tax structures and manage tax risk across the Group.
• Oversee corporate income tax, VAT, PAYE and tax accounting.
• Lead engagements with SARS and other revenue authorities.
• Manage tax audits, assessments and disputes.
• Navigate local and international tax matters, including transfer pricing.
• Anticipate legislative changes and translate them into business implications.
• Strengthen tax controls, systems, processes and the overall operating model.
• Lead and develop the Group tax team.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Law.
• Professional tax certifications or further qualifications (advantageous).
• Minimum 8 years post‑qualification experience in taxation, including tax accounting.
• Strong experience across direct tax, international tax and VAT.
• Deep knowledge of tax legislation, compliance and reporting.
• Proven tax planning, risk management and transaction‑structuring capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
