Head of People – Value-Added Meats Category

About the role

The Head of People will lead the people strategy for Libstar’s Value‑Added Meats Category, partnering closely with the cluster leadership team to drive performance, culture and compliance across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a people strategy aligned with commercial, operational and group objectives.
• Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management and succession planning.
• Drive digitalisation and automation of HR processes to improve efficiency.
• Champion psychological safety, inclusion and a positive organisational culture.
• Advise on labour‑relation matters, lead wage negotiations and represent the organisation at the CCMA.
• Oversee remuneration, benefits administration and compliance with Employment Equity reporting.
• Coach managers on employee engagement, inclusion and high‑performance practices.
• Manage the annual People budget and use HR analytics to inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology or related field.
• 5‑8 years experience as an HR Business Partner, with 3‑5 years in labour relations and FMCG manufacturing.
• At least 5 years managing a People team and delivering HR projects.
• Proven ability to lead organisational change, build stakeholder relationships and influence senior leaders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
• Strong HR analytics capability for data‑driven decision making.
• Experience in digitalising and automating HR processes.
