Head of Operations

About the role

This senior leadership position reports directly to the founder and is responsible for shaping the operational backbone of a fast‑growing property tax exemption business. The role is fully remote, offering flexibility while requiring alignment with core business hours overlapping 9 AM‑6 PM Eastern US time.

Key responsibilities

• Submit every exemption application correctly and within statutory deadlines for each cycle.
• Track all decisions and log them in the designated system of record by required deadlines.
• Manage denials and appeals processes, ensuring timely resolution.
• Oversee annual recertification and compliance cadence to meet regulatory requirements.
• Develop and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) for the operations team.
• Maintain high standards of data hygiene and foster a culture of accountability.
• Establish a single shared source of truth for the team, software, and clients.

Required profile

• Significant experience in operations management within a growing or complex service‑oriented environment.
• Proven ability to structure and optimise processes and lead a team of three or more.
• Willingness to work core business hours overlapping 9 AM‑6 PM Eastern US time.
• Comfortable in a performance‑driven culture and eager to contribute to strategic growth.

What we offer

• Base salary of R180,000 per year.
• Total compensation ranging from R250,000 to R350,000, tied to key performance indicators.
