Head of Human Resources

About the role

The Head of Human Resources is the senior-most people‑management authority at Fides Recruitment, reporting directly to the Executive Chairman. You will design and execute an integrated HR strategy that supports the firm’s consulting mandate, growth objectives, and organisational culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the HR strategy and structure aligned with overall business strategy.
• Lead, develop and resource the HR team, including a Senior Consultant (Talent Management & Training) and an HR Administrator.
• Provide expert guidance on employment legislation, labour law, policies and practices.
• Maintain consistency of HR policy application and update policies via the Policy Committee.
• Drive employee relations, performance management, engagement, retention and compensation alignment.
• Manage the SkX Learnership Academy, membership programmes and the Career Development Framework.
• Develop workforce planning and talent acquisition frameworks.
• Support directors and line managers through coaching, talent assessments and succession planning.
• Oversee organisational design, change management and HR‑critical projects.
• Participate as a member of the Provident Fund Committee.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Industrial/Organisational Psychology or Business Administration (SAQA registered).
• Honours or Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MCom in HRM) is advantageous.
• Registration as a Master HR Professional (MHRP) or Chartered HR Professional (CHRP) with SABPP, or commitment to obtain within 12 months.
• 5–10 years progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in senior strategic HR leadership.
• Experience in professional services, consulting, financial services or knowledge‑economy firms preferred.
