Head of Digital Employee Experience (DEx)

About the role

Lead Old Mutual's Digital Employee Experience (DEx) function, shaping the vision and strategy for seamless, technology‑enabled employee journeys across the organisation. You will guide a team of Journey Leads, partner with Human Capital stakeholders, and ensure that technology investments deliver measurable workforce outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the DEx strategy and roadmap aligned with Human Capital priorities.
• Define employee experience principles, service offerings, governance structures and value propositions.
• Partner with executives to diagnose workforce problems, validate root causes and design appropriate digital interventions.
• Oversee journey and solution design, ensuring coherent employee journeys and fit‑for‑purpose digital solutions.
• Establish success measures, adoption metrics, utilisation frameworks and ROI tracking for all technology investments.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, AI tools such as Copilot, automation and digital labour opportunities.
• Evolve the operating model, governance forums and Agile participation to integrate the DEx value chain.
• Build strategic partnerships across HC Practices, Business Teams, Tech and external vendors.
• Develop the capability of Journey Leads and future DEx talent.
• Lead, inspire and communicate a compelling vision to a high‑performance team.

Required profile

• Degree at NQF Level 7 (post‑graduate qualification preferred).
• 8–10 years of experience in digital transformation, human capital, employee experience or related consulting.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing professional teams.
• Proven ability to translate technology investments into measurable workforce outcomes.
