Hardware Operations Technician

About the role

The Operations Technician will help our client scale rapidly by performing on‑site installations of energy devices, managing a fleet of hardware, troubleshooting technical issues, training new installers, and supporting logistics and R&D experiments in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site installations of products at single‑dwelling and multi‑dwelling units.
• Monitor and maintain the device fleet, providing technical troubleshooting and user support.
• Expand the installer network through training and on‑site evaluations.
• Manage and supervise installation projects, including B2C channels.
• Support R&D through field experiments and root‑cause analysis.
• Handle internal logistics such as inventory control, picking, packing, and testing.
• Assist with regional deployment logistics to support local installers.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence and own transport for fieldwork.
• At least 5 years of experience in a related role (preferred).
• Qualified and COC‑registered plumber.
• Technical qualifications (NQF Level 6, electrician, or solar installer) are advantageous.
• Strong communication, computer literacy and ability to self‑manage.
• Proven ability to present technical training and support customers professionally.
