Group Commercial Director

About the role

Repower Africa, a leading renewable energy provider in Southern Africa, is looking for a Group Commercial Director to lead the creation and execution of commercial opportunities across its solar PV and battery energy storage portfolio. The role works closely with executive leadership to shape the Group’s growth strategy and emerging ventures.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a national pipeline of commercial and industrial renewable energy projects.
• Originate, qualify, structure and close profitable solar PV and BESS projects.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, funders, property groups and strategic partners.
• Support the commercial rollout of Flux Analytics and Flux Access solutions.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to establish commercial systems and processes that enable scalable growth.
• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and represent the business at industry events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven senior experience in commercial, business development or energy finance roles.
• Demonstrated success in closing commercial and industrial transactions.
• Strong understanding of solar PV, BESS, PPAs and project economics.
• Experience with funded energy solutions, energy services or asset finance structures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel nationally as required.
