Graduate Engineer – Water Resilience (Civil/Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental)

About the role

We are a water‑resilience consultancy based in Pretoria looking for a motivated graduate or candidate engineer. You will work on real sites, handling water‑audit data and supporting design activities while progressing on the ECSA Candidate Engineer pathway.

Key responsibilities

• Execute water‑audit fieldwork to minimum standards, improving capture‑error rates.
• Draft structured report sections that meet review requirements.
• Support design work through drawing coordination, calculations under supervision, site inspections and progress meetings.
• Register as an ECSA Candidate Engineer (if not already) and maintain a logbook with quarterly mentor reviews.
• Identify and implement one improvement to the data‑capture workflow (validation rule, checklist, or schema suggestion).

Required profile

• Engineering degree (BEng/BSc) in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Eligible for ECSA Candidate Engineer registration.
• 0–4 years of experience in consulting or infrastructure projects.
• Evidence of structured technical writing (report, thesis chapter, or similar).
• Strong academic record; declared repeats are acceptable, undeclared repeats are disqualifying.
• Interest in water systems and a valid driver’s licence with own transport for travel across Gauteng and nationally.

Required skills

• Basic CAD/Revit proficiency.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis).
• Python scripting ability (a plus).
