Grade 1 Locum Teacher – Foundation Phase

About the role

We are looking for a nurturing and dynamic Grade 1 Locum Teacher to join Trinityhouse’s Foundation Phase. The role focuses on delivering play‑based, Christian‑aligned learning that builds strong literacy, numeracy and life‑skill foundations for young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in literacy, numeracy and life skills.
• Design hands‑on, play‑based activities that support language, early maths, fine motor and social development.
• Differentiate instruction using small‑group teaching, concrete resources and appropriate digital tools.
• Integrate age‑appropriate technology to enrich learning and build early digital confidence.
• Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that promotes routines, participation and a love of learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, intervention strategies and professional learning.
• Conduct continuous assessment through observation, oral and written tasks, and track developmental milestones.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate academic records.
• Foster a safe, respectful atmosphere aligned with the school’s Christian ethos.
