Golf Course Maintenance Apprentice

About the role

Fancourt, South Africa’s premier golf and leisure destination, is seeking a motivated individual to join its Golf Course Maintenance team as an apprentice. The role provides hands‑on training in all aspects of golf course care, preparing you for a long‑term career in turf management.

Key responsibilities

• Hand‑rake bunkers and perform bunker maintenance.
• Operate ride‑on and walk‑behind mowers to cut fairways and tees.
• Trim verges and hedges, and roll greens to maintain surface quality.
• Water the course manually and apply cultural practices.
• Use weed eaters, blowers and push mowers for detailed grooming.
• Assist with sod installation and other ground‑cover work.
• Perform any additional reasonable tasks as directed.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10 (or equivalent) education.
• General work experience and a strong willingness to learn.
• Valid driver’s licence is an advantage.
• No criminal record.
• Physical fitness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including weekends and public holidays.
