Divisional Technical Manager – Ruminants

About the role

Meadow Feeds is looking for an experienced, commercially‑minded Divisional Technical Manager to shape the national ruminant technical strategy across its Feed Division. The role combines strategic leadership, product innovation and technical alignment across multiple feed mills and regional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the divisional ruminant technical strategy and standardise formulation concepts.
• Drive technical excellence, mentorship and capability building within the ruminant team.
• Support key customers and regional technical teams while fostering commercial growth and product innovation.
• Ensure compliance with technical governance guidelines and quality standards.
• Lead stakeholder management and apply strong analytical and communication skills for organisational benefit.

Required profile

• PhD (preferred) or MSc in Animal Nutrition/Science.
• SACNASP registration as a Professional Animal Scientist.
• Minimum 10 years of ruminant nutrition, technical advisory and people‑management experience.
• Deep understanding of the South African feed and animal production industry.
• Senior leadership experience within feed manufacturing or agri‑business.

Required skills

• Expertise in Total Mixed Ration (TMR) and pasture dairy systems.
• Experience with intensive and extensive beef and sheep production systems.
