GMP Training Officer - Pharmaceutical

About the role

MJM Recruitment is hiring a GMP Training Officer for a pharmaceutical client in Durban. The officer develops, implements, manages and runs a competency-based Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) training programme that supports the client's quality management system and ensures compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out training needs analysis with stakeholders and run a competency-based cGMP training programme with post-training assessments.
• Design the cGMP training framework, identify training needs through task analysis, appraisals and consultations, and work with the CAPA Officer, internal auditor and compliance team to close cGMP gaps.
• Update training modules and materials with subject matter experts, build departmental training matrices and create an induction module for new staff.
• Help draft competency assessment questionnaires and advise managers on them.
• Work with the Learning, Development and Performance Management division to schedule training, manage training records and keep curricula inspection-ready.
• Deliver or facilitate cGMP training with qualified trainers, monitor trainee progress and follow up on incomplete assessments.
• Use tools such as Skillogical for competency assessments and provide training statistics and reports for quality management reviews.
• Promote the Quality Policy and cGMP training, take part in quality and GMP initiatives, and keep up to date with workplace learning trends.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Quality/cGMP and a relevant training qualification.
• At least 5 years' experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or quality assurance, with working knowledge of cGMP, facilities, processes, equipment and systems.
• At least 2 years' experience in a training role; Post Basic PMA preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design and training methodologies.
• Computer literacy: MS Office, Visio, SAP and the Internet.
