Glazing Foreman – Experienced Aluminium & Façade Specialist

About the role

The Glazing Foreman will lead all glazing and aluminium installation activities on construction sites, ensuring that windows, doors, shopfronts and façade systems are installed to the highest quality and safety standards. This senior position requires strong technical knowledge of South African glazing regulations and the ability to coordinate multiple trades.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise glazing and aluminium installation teams, enforcing correct materials and workmanship.
• Coordinate daily site activities with contractors, engineers and other trades.
• Conduct internal inspections at critical stages and verify glass type, thickness, aluminium profiles, fixing, sealing and alignment.
• Manage incoming material inspections, confirming compliance with approved specifications and safety markings.
• Prepare the site for third‑party inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
• Maintain daily site reports, record progress, defects and corrective actions, and support final handover documentation.
• Enforce OHS requirements, ensuring safe handling of glass and aluminium throughout the project.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of hands‑on experience in glazing, aluminium installations or façade works.
• Proven track record with aluminium windows, doors, shopfront systems and curtain‑wall/façade projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, glazing schedules and technical specifications.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills, with experience supervising site teams.
