GIS Asset Data Co-ordinator

About the role
eThekwini is looking for a GIS Asset Data Co-ordinator to provide municipal-wide GIS and asset management support. The role covers complex spatial analysis, data management and linking the GIS/asset management system with relational databases.
Key responsibilities
- Perform complex spatial analysis, data management and interface GIS/asset management with relational databases
- Monitor asset and audit data for the Council's GRAP 17 compliant asset register
- Facilitate, support and train GIS/asset management users
- Provide technical support to user departments for the GIS/asset management system
- Attend strategic meetings with the Head of Department and asset managers
Required profile
- Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or another related and equivalent qualification; a degree (NQF Level 7) is preferred
- 3 years of relevant experience; 4 years preferred
- Valid motor vehicle driving licence
- Computer literacy
