Geriatrician and Specialist Physician

About the role

Mediclinic Sandton is seeking an experienced Geriatrician and Specialist Physician to join its multidisciplinary team. The position is based in our state‑of‑the‑art facility in Bryanston, Johannesburg, providing comprehensive care to adult patients across a range of clinical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality geriatric and specialist medical care to in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Collaborate with intensive care, neonatal, paediatric and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient management.
• Participate in the 24‑hour Emergency unit and contribute to rapid decision‑making for complex cases.
• Mentor junior doctors and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to hospital protocols and HPCSA regulations.

Required profile

• Medical degree with full registration on the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) register.
• Board‑certified or equivalent experience in Geriatrics and a relevant specialty.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care and continuous professional development.
