About the role
The Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality is seeking 30 dynamic individuals to join its General Workers team. This permanent role involves a variety of cleaning, maintenance and public‑space duties to ensure a safe and tidy environment for staff and the community.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare beverages for staff and maintain a clean kitchen and service areas.
- Clean municipal buildings, streets, open public spaces and remove litter, debris or animal carcasses.
- Maintain, clean and operate vector‑control and other municipal equipment safely.
- Maintain storm‑water furrows, drainage channels and assist with road and drainage repairs.
- Carry out any cleaning or related tasks delegated by the immediate superior.
Required profile
- Minimum education: Grade 10 (Standard 8).
- Cleaning skills, communication skills and functional literacy.
- First Aid certification.
- Operating skills for municipal equipment.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically fit for general duties.
- Willingness to undergo security clearance.
