General Manager – Wilderness Lodge

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a unique wilderness lodge in the Cederberg region of the Western Cape. This hands‑on position combines operational oversight, guest experience management and financial stewardship in a remote, nature‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the lodge, restaurant and guest‑experience departments.
• Manage guest journeys from arrival through departure, ensuring high satisfaction.
• Lead, coach and develop staff across all areas, fostering a culture of service excellence.
• Maintain food quality and service standards in the restaurant.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, stock, maintenance and vehicles.
• Coordinate logistics, staffing schedules and guest activities.
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, supplier relationships and cost controls.
• Act as on‑site brand custodian and support emergency or environmental challenges.

Required profile

• RSA ID and legal residence in South Africa.
• Minimum 3 years experience as Lodge Manager or General Manager in hospitality.
• Strong leadership, team‑management and communication abilities.
• Proven financial management and budgeting skills.
• Culinary knowledge and a passion for high‑quality guest service.
• Ability to thrive in a remote wilderness setting.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (advantageous).
• Hospitality qualification (advantageous).
