Fund Accountant

About the role

The Fund Accountant will be responsible for producing accurate fund accounting and reporting on client investments for RisCura Invest. You will analyse reconciliation differences, support month‑end and year‑end processes, and help embed best practices within the Fund Accounting and Reporting team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in month‑end reporting, including calculations of time‑weighted rate of return (TWRR) and preparation of statements, monthly reports and working papers.
• Prepare and review regulatory reports such as SARB and C48 filings.
• Support the year‑end audit process, liaise with external auditors and respond to client and audit queries.
• Coordinate induction programmes for new joiners and mentor junior staff.
• Identify and implement process improvements, checks and controls to mitigate risk.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams, asset managers, external auditors and employee benefit administrators.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of relevant experience in investment management or a related industry.
• Strong reconciliation, numeric and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Proactive problem‑solver with good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Understanding of pension fund and investment management industry trends.
