Full-time Cook – Cape Town

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team at a leading hospitality brand in Cape Town. The role involves preparing high‑quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting a smooth kitchen operation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and complete food preparation checklists.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Test foods for proper cooking, monitor food quality, and ensure correct portioning.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
• Check and maintain correct temperatures for appliances and food.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any issues promptly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, microwaves).
• Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.
• Clear and professional communication.
