About the role
Afrimat CM Western Cape (Pty) Ltd is seeking an FTC Accountant on a 6‑month contract to support its finance function in Bellville, South Africa.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journals and financial transactions.
- Complete monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Prepare management accounts, financial reports, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory requirements and support audit processes.
- Provide financial analysis and support to operational teams while maintaining effective controls.
Required profile
- Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a medium to large operational environment.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, reconciliations, reporting and compliance.
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems
