Food & Beverage Support Expert (Lounge Runner)

About the role

As a Food & Beverage Support Expert (Lounge Runner) you will play a vital part in the pre‑opening of The Cape Town EDITION Hotel’s lounge, ensuring that food and beverage operations run smoothly and that guests enjoy a seamless experience.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, stock and maintain work areas, including tables, kitchen stations and service stations.
• Assist the kitchen and service teams by replenishing supplies, handling china, glass and silver, and ensuring cleanliness and presentation before use.
• Perform closing duties: store reusable goods, break down equipment, clean all areas, restock items, lock refrigerators, turn off lights, lock doors and complete the daily cleaning checklist.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests, answer telephone calls with professional etiquette, and follow all company, safety and security policies.
• Report accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions to the manager and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Physical capability to lift ≤25 lb unaided, ≤50 lb with assistance, reach overhead and below the knees, and perform bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
• Professional appearance, clean uniform and adherence to confidentiality and asset protection policies.
