Fleet Controller / Vlootbeheerder (AN 150)

About the role

The company is a well‑established transport and logistics provider in Gauteng, serving major national routes. They are looking for a proactive Fleet Controller to manage load planning, driver coordination and vehicle monitoring to ensure reliable, on‑time deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Capture, update and maintain planned loads in the Fleet Management System and allocate them efficiently to available vehicles.
• Monitor vehicle and driver movements, diesel consumption and performance, and address any operational challenges promptly.
• Communicate loading instructions, route changes and delivery updates to drivers and maintain accurate attendance and leave records.
• Ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) documents are scanned, submitted and archived correctly.
• Maintain regular communication with clients on load status, resolve service issues and keep the call centre informed of breakdowns or incidents.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with a qualification in Transport, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Fleet Controller in freight or transport, including route planning, driver management and client liaison.
• Experience with tautliner or tipper fleets; mining logistics exposure is an advantage.
• Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of Fleet Management Systems.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
