Financial Planning Analyst

About the role

The Financial Planning Analyst supports the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager in delivering accurate financial planning, forecasting and reporting for the South Africa affiliate. The role focuses on financial modelling, variance analysis and cross-functional coordination to provide timely and insightful financial information. It is based in Cape Town and is open to current LS&Co employees applying through their Workday account.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining financial planning models
• Support the Strategic Business Plan, Annual Financial Plan and rolling forecasts
• Perform monthly variance analysis and prepare management reporting packs
• Analyse key risk and opportunity areas and coordinate with business units to gather and validate financial inputs
• Enter financial data into Essbase and other planning systems
• Prepare valuation models and support business case development
• Work with HR, Supply Chain, Tax and Treasury teams on aligned planning inputs
• Help implement best practices in financial planning and prepare presentation material for internal and cluster reviews
• Support the FP&A Manager with cluster reporting templates, monthly and quarterly GP financial close, ad hoc reporting and pricing and costing uploads

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; completed CIMA or studying towards CIMA is advantageous
• 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis or related roles
• Familiarity with IFRS and multi-currency reporting
• Experience with planning tools such as SAP, Essbase or Hyperion is advantageous
