Financial Planning Analyst

About the role

Derivco Group is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst to join its Finance team. In this position you will deliver accurate financial insights, support evidence‑based decision‑making and partner with senior stakeholders across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare performance reports, variance analyses and management dashboards that give timely visibility of results, trends and drivers.
• Partner with business‑unit leaders and senior managers to explain financial outcomes and build shared understanding.
• Build and maintain financial models, budget templates, forecasts and scenario analyses to support planning.
• Translate financial and operational data into clear, actionable commentary for finance and non‑finance audiences.
• Conduct variance, trend and scenario analyses to improve forecast accuracy and flag risks or opportunities.
• Contribute analysis and commentary to business reviews and planning meetings.
• Identify inconsistencies in data or model assumptions and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
• Support cross‑functional planning activities, business case reviews and continuous improvement of modelling templates and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Completed Grade 12 and a tertiary qualification in finance or a related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, management reporting or business finance.
• Proven ability to produce financial reports that support management decision‑making.
• Experience partnering with senior business stakeholders to explain results and challenge assumptions.
• Understanding of financial planning cycles, budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario analysis.

• Advanced spreadsheet analytics.
• Experience with financial reporting systems.
