Financial Manager – Retail & Food & Beverage

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑focused Financial Manager to lead the transition of our finance function from outsourced to fully in‑house. You will work closely with the CEO and executive team of a growing retail and food & beverage group, providing strategic insight and hands‑on financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the finance function and embed it within the business.
• Partner with senior leadership to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
• Provide profit, ROI and margin analysis, pricing, wastage and operational efficiency insights.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with operational commentary.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and cash‑flow management.
• Ensure robust financial controls, compliance and governance.
• Collaborate with Group HR, Operations and Marketing as a trusted business partner.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification – essential.
• 5+ years post‑articles experience, preferably in a Financial Manager or Finance Business Partner role.
• Proven experience in retail and/or food & beverage environments.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on levels.
