Financial Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to lead the financial management of a manufacturing operation. In this senior position you will partner with the Board and operational leaders to drive financial performance, manage risk, and turn data into actionable business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop long‑term financial plans aligned with factory operations and optimise capital allocation.
• Implement cost‑control measures, analyse production costs, overheads and raw‑material expenditures.
• Manage working capital, inventory and procurement costs across the supply chain.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and develop risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Create and manage factory budgets, forecasting models and adapt plans to demand fluctuations.
• Use financial data analytics and KPIs to improve efficiency and implement ERP systems for real‑time tracking.
• Maintain strong cash flow, oversee debt, financing and capital investments.
• Lead and develop the finance team, collaborating with operations, supply‑chain and production leaders.
• Leverage automation, AI and digital finance tools to drive innovation.
• Communicate financial insights to executives, board members, investors and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Professional designation such as CA(SA), ACCA, CPA or CFA.
• 8‑15 years of relevant financial experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production costs and supply‑chain finance.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, compliance and financial reporting.
