Financial Manager – Manufacturing Finance Lead

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls and compliance with IFRS and legislation for an SME.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, treasury activities, cash‑flow forecasting and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare management reports summarising the business’s financial position and support strategic planning.
• Oversee financial accounting and costing records, including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, inventory, payroll and expense reporting.
• Control budgets, overhead costs, recoveries, working capital and product costing, providing insights for cost reduction.
• Lead internal and external audits, maintain the fixed‑asset register and manage VAT and other tax requirements.
• Supervise and develop finance staff, conduct appraisals and foster a productive corporate culture.

Required profile

• B.Com Accounting degree or equivalent commerce qualification.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar financial management role, preferably in manufacturing.
• People‑management experience and proven ability to lead a finance team.
• Professional registration (SAICA, CIMA or SAIPA) or working towards it is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS standards.
• Cost management expertise in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with internal controls and compliance processes.
