Financial Manager

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded finance leader to drive financial performance for a leading retail organisation with a strong national footprint. The role will oversee the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and perform variance analysis.
• Drive financial planning and commercial decision‑making across the business.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation and statutory requirements.
• Oversee cash flow management, VAT, income tax and maintain robust financial controls.
• Partner with operational teams to improve profitability, inventory performance and cost efficiencies.
• Manage the year‑end audit process and liaise with external auditors.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Financial Manager in the retail sector.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, leadership and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• ERP system experience (e.g., SAP, Syspro, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Oracle).
