Financial Manager

About the role

The Financial Manager will lead the finance function for a cluster, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls, and strategic financial planning. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role combines people leadership with deep technical finance expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Manage finance sub‑teams, ensuring resources are aligned to deliver tasks on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Partner with the Managing Director to develop, implement and monitor strategic financial plans.
• Review and communicate the finance division’s strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Design, improve and maintain financial systems, processes and policies to support reporting, planning and control.
• Advise on resource allocation and ensure financial efficiency and compliance with internal policies.
• Apply sound financial management principles to optimise working capital, control budgets and safeguard assets.
• Oversee analytical reviews, balance‑sheet reconciliations, income verification checks and supervise accounting staff.
• Ensure accurate cluster accounting, timely tax calculations and payments, and inter‑company processing.
• Support Group finance with reporting to the Board and evaluate financial data.
• Conduct cost analysis and negotiate better supplier rates within the consolidated structure.

Required profile

• CA(SA) accreditation.
• Minimum five years post‑articles experience in finance.
• Proven people‑management experience, including succession planning and staff development.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, internal controls and corporate governance.
