Financial Manager: Client Portfolio (Professional Services)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established professional services firm, is looking for a senior Financial Manager to own the financial stewardship of a large, complex client portfolio. You will act as the primary liaison for the client, ensuring day‑to‑day accounting, reporting and financial controls are executed to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for a multi‑entity client group, building trusted relationships and understanding their operational and financial needs.
• Oversee daily accounting activities, maintain fully reconciled records, and manage banking, payments and cash‑flow processes.
• Review and process complex transactions such as acquisitions, rebates, goodwill, loans and interest.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and annual financial statements.
• Identify financial risks or irregularities and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate service delivery across internal departments and support senior client queries.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification or equivalent professional accounting credential.
• Extensive senior‑level financial management and technical accounting experience, preferably within professional services or an accounting practice.
• Proven experience managing the finances of complex groups or multiple legal entities.
• Strong commercial judgement, advisory capability and ability to manage senior client relationships.
• Leadership or team‑management experience with a high degree of organisation and accountability.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• Experience preparing annual financial statements using CaseWare.
